That's what it started with.. words, words and many more words.. and then some music to go with those words. I had been writing songs and performing them in various places for a couple of years. 2009 yielded many more songs and performances opportunities. At that point, it felt right to get down to putting down all my songs into an album. I had learnt some production techniques on my own, brushed up on my music theory and had gotten lots more performance experiences under my belt. But I still felt a little lost... how does one go about producing one's first album?
When I found out about The Apprenticeship Program through a Zo Postcard I found in a cafe, I decided I would give it a shot. I sent in home demos of two of my songs 'Lullaby' and 'Sometimes'. About two weeks later, I got a call... I had been shortlisted for an audition.
At the audition I was nervous and it was apparent: my fingers were shaking and there was a catch in my voice. But somehow I made it through, and was selected to work with Don Richmond for The Apprenticeship Program. I was absolutely thrilled.
